Each member of our team brings unique skills and passions—whether in resident services, youth development, or community engagement—all working together to ensure every individual and family has the opportunity to thrive.
Resident Services Coordinators

Hassan Ahmed
Hassan is a humanitarian professional with a strong background in refugee resettlement and community support. He is committed to helping residents find stability, independence, and a sense of belonging.
Hassan Ahmed is a Resident Services Coordinator at Compass, serving the residents at the Shoreline community. He is a compassionate humanitarian professional with a strong background in refugee resettlement, case management, and community support.
Before joining Compass, Hassan worked with the United Nations–IOM Los Angeles Office, assisting refugee and Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) arrivals. He succeeded in his role by partnering with other agencies to ensure a smooth transition for families beginning new lives in the United States. Prior to his work with the UN, he served as an Employment Specialist with the International Rescue Committee in San Diego, helping refugees and immigrants achieve stability through employment and self-sufficiency.
Hassan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from San Diego State University and has completed multiple professional development certifications. Guided by Compass’s mission, he is dedicated to helping residents build stability, independence, and a sense of belonging within their communities. Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer, spending time with family, and reading history books.

Mayrin Rodrigues
Mayrin fosters welcoming, inclusive spaces where residents feel supported and connected. They are passionate about community engagement and building meaningful relationships every day.
Mayrin Rodrigues is a Resident Services Coordinator at Compass. They began their work in community outreach during college, gaining experience across several resource centers before joining Compass. Drawn to the organization’s mission and its core values of community engagement and connection, Mayrin was inspired by Compass’s commitment to building strong, supportive environments that help residents thrive.
In their role, Mayrin is passionate about fostering a welcoming atmosphere for residents through meaningful, everyday interactions—whether connecting at community events or sharing friendly conversations in the office. They take pride in creating spaces where residents feel seen, supported, and valued.
Mayrin holds a deep belief in the power of community and feels fulfilled each day knowing their work helps strengthen relationships and build belonging across Compass communities. Outside of work, they enjoy playing with their tuxedo cat, Xochitl, reading thrillers, and exploring new local food spots around San Diego.

Evelyn Burciaga
Evelyn is dedicated to youth and community growth while pursuing a degree in Child and Adolescent Development at CSUSM. She strives to empower families and create nurturing environments where children can thrive.
Evelyn Burciaga is a Resident Services Coordinator at Compass, serving the residents at the Orange Garden community. She is a passionate advocate for youth and community growth, dedicated to fostering inclusive and supportive spaces where families and individuals can flourish.
Alongside her work at Compass, Evelyn is pursuing a degree in Child and Adolescent Development at California State University San Marcos (CSUSM), where she continues to deepen her understanding of how to guide and uplift young people. Her academic and professional paths share a common purpose—creating environments where every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.
Evelyn takes pride in contributing to Compass’s mission by helping residents build stability, connection, and confidence within their communities. Her commitment to advocacy, empowerment, and lifelong learning reflects her drive to create meaningful, positive change both in her work and in her studies.

Isabella Simmons
Isabella combines her psychology background and childcare experience to connect deeply with residents and enhance after-school programs. She brings positivity, care, and creativity to every interaction.
Isabella Simmons is a Resident Services Coordinator at Compass. She was inspired to join the organization after learning about its mission to support individuals and families through meaningful programs and services. With a background in psychology, Isabella enjoys connecting with residents each day, offering a listening ear and a helping hand whenever needed.
Her experience in childcare has been a valuable asset in enhancing after-school programs at her property, helping to create a positive and engaging environment where children can learn and grow. Isabella’s favorite part of her role is meeting new people and ensuring residents feel heard, supported, and welcomed through every interaction.
In addition to her daily responsibilities, she enjoys planning and hosting community and educational events that bring residents together. Outside of work, Isabella loves cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends—and she has a hidden talent for singing.

Alondra Cruz
Alondra is passionate about community building and resident well-being. She takes pride in helping families access resources, overcome challenges, and feel truly at home at Alora and Estrella Apartments.
Alondra Cruz is a Resident Services Coordinator at Compass, serving the Alora and Estrella communities. She is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community and connection among residents, guided by her passion for helping others and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and empowered.
Since joining Compass in 2023, Alondra has viewed her role as more than just a job—it’s an opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives every day. She values empathy, integrity, and collaboration, and is especially passionate about promoting housing stability, family well-being, and access to resources that improve quality of life.
Alondra’s favorite part of her work is the relationships she builds with residents—listening to their stories, celebrating successes, and offering support through both everyday moments and challenges. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, caring for her children and their farm animals, and exploring the outdoors. Those moments remind her of the importance of balance, gratitude, and connection—values she brings to her work each day.
